Pro Bono & Access to Justice
Upholding the constitutional promise of access to justice for vulnerable and deserving individuals.
Access to Justice for All
At Wanjiru Nyaguthi & Company Advocates, we believe that access to justice should not be limited by an individual's ability to afford legal representation. As part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we set aside time to take on a limited number of pro bono matters for individuals with deserving cases.
We believe that access to justice is an important part of a fair and inclusive society. Through our pro bono initiative, Wanjiru Nyaguthi & Company Advocates seeks to provide legal assistance to individuals and communities who may face financial or other barriers to accessing legal services.
We consider selected matters where we are able to make a meaningful contribution, with priority given to matters involving significant access-to-justice concerns and individuals who are unable to afford legal representation. Each request is assessed on its individual circumstances, the nature and urgency of the matter, available resources and the firm's capacity to assist.

Understand our Chambers Public Interest intake criteria, review timelines, and eligibility considerations.
Our Chambers Public Interest & Legal Aid Committee evaluates applications for pro bono (free) legal representation against rigorous public interest and vulnerability criteria:
- Indigent Financial Status: Verified inability of the applicant to afford private legal counsel or commercial retainer fees.
- Human Rights & Public Interest Significance: Matters involving constitutional fundamental freedoms, land disinheritance of widows/orphans, child protection, or unlawful forced evictions.
- Legal Merit & Absence of Other Representation: The case must have sound legal standing and the applicant must not have an active retained private advocate.
- Chambers Capacity: Availability of advocate capacity within the designated practice term.
Interested applicants may submit the online Pro Bono Intake Form. Our committee reviews applications weekly and communicates assessments within 3 to 5 business days.
